The Atlantic Council internship opportunities

The Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security is hiring Young Global Professionals (YGPs) for it’s Forward Defense program. Application deadline is Midnight Sunday, 8th June 2025 .

The Atlantic Council, a global think tank that promotes constructive leadership and engagement in international affairs, based on the central role of the Atlantic community.

The Scowcroft Center work to develop sustainable, non-partisan strategies to address the most important security challenges facing the United States and it’s closest allies and partners.

Young Global Professionals Program (YGP)
The Atlantic Council’s YGP program focuses on developing global policy experts through exposure to a robust curriculum of foreign policy research, leadership training and career development workshops, along with day-to-day operational exposure to our 16 programs and centers. As a highly competitive experiential learning program, Young Global Professionals gain experience through:

  • Contributing to global policy research and development
  • Contributing to publication efforts through writing and editorial work
  • Atlantic Council Masterclasses and Career development workshops
  • Building a professional network with peers and fellows
  • Training on software platforms and operational tools
  • Coordinating event logistics and supporting strategic engagement initiatives

Through being a YGP, I have learned what it means to work at a think tank and developed important skills including research, analysis, and event planning and execution.
